Susan Elizabeth Cook, 65 passed away peacefully at Essentia Health Fargo, ND on August 6, 2022 after a long hard fought battle with recurring cancer. Born August 22, 1956, the daughter of Bill and Shirley Butsch, she grew up in the Dickinson, ND area, along with siblings Connie, Mark and David. She raised two daughters, April and Anissa. She eventually made her permanent home in Fargo ND, where she worked for a number of years for Red River Human Services Foundation. Susan was an active member of Hope Lutheran Church until her health declined to the point she could no longer sing in the church choir, that she loved dearly. Later in life, she met and married Dana Cook. They had 2 years together before his death in 2019. Susan struggled with the isolation of the pandemic, and lost a good friend to COVID in 2021. Her cat Walter was her faithful companion to the end.

Susan’s internment was held at the Fargo National Veterans Cemetery, Harwood, ND, on August 24, 2022, where she lies in rest next to Dana. A remembrance will be held at Hope Lutheran Church, south campus, hosted by her church choir family, on September 21, at 7:40pm.
