Terry M. Nokken, 55, of East Gull Lake, MN, formerly Moorhead, MN passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Wednesday, May 4, 2022 at Mayo Clinic Hospital – Methodist Campus, Rochester, MN. Terry was born February 20, 1967 in Fargo, ND to Marc and Shirley (Steen) Nokken. He graduated from Moorhead High School in 1985 and began farming on the family farm shortly after graduation. Spending time with his children and grandchildren was one of his greatest pleasures. They were his pride and joy and always brought a beaming smile to his face. He enjoyed working out, golfing, hunting, snowmobiling, watching Nascar, and spending time at the lake on his pontoon. Terry was a patient, kind, loving man with a heart of gold who was always willing to help anyone. He loved unconditionally and was always willing to lend a listening ear. He will be missed greatly by his family and friends. He is survived by his children; Shelby (Jake) Deitchler, St. Michael, MN, Sean (Kelly) Nokken, Brainerd, MN, parents; Marc and Shirley Nokken, Moorhead, MN; 5 grandchildren, Ava Baron, Bodie Deitchler, Ryker Deitchler, Everly Deitchler, Archer Nokken; siblings, Michael (Jenny Carnes) Nokken, Crosslake, MN, Susan (Per) Hjalmarsson, Bozeman, MT, Linda (John) Tupa, Moorhead, MN, Lisa (fiancé Paul Jeffries) Nokken, Moorhead, MN and many nieces and nephews. Guestbook

  1. Shelby and Sean,

I am sorry for your loss. I did not know your dad, but I have heard so many nice things about him.

  2. Marc, Shirley and the extended Nokken family
Sorry to read of Terry’s passing. His picture, that smile and twinkle in his eyes, brings back thoughts of all the happy times and maybe mischievous moments in his and our Michael’s youth.
Christ and St. Peter will welcome him at the gate; Terry will just have to worry about Bunny at the driver’s exam table.
Our prayers are with you in this time of remembering his life.
    John and Jean Stadsvold

  3. Nokken family, my thoughts and prayers are with you! I had the great pleasure of growing-up with Terry. He was a trusted friend & teammate. We drifted apart in life but whenever we bumped into each over the years, we were instantly comfortable, old pals, laughing & smiling. I’ll remember him this way, always.

  4. DEAR Marc and Shirley and family,
I’m so sorry to hear of the passing of Terry. I will keep you and Terry in our prayers.
    Nancy Dewey

  5. Jenny and Michael and your family
We are so sorry for your loss. You are always in our hearts and prayers.
    We love you
    Dad and Pennie

  6. Dear Marc, Shirley & all of the Nokken Family,

Our deepest sympathy to all of you on the passing of Terry. May the many treasured memories of love and laughter be a comfort to you now and for generations to come.

  7. Jenny and Michael-
We are so sorry. We’re thinking about you during this tough time.

We’re sending you and the entire Nokken clan our love and support.

    With Love,
    David, Lisa, Jackson, & Leo

  8. Lisa, so sorry for the loss of your brother. You and your family are in our thoughts and prayers.

  9. Nokken Family: Our sincere condolences! Terry was a thoughtful, generous Gull Lake neighbor.

  10. Terry was a great neighbor. We met him about three years ago when we bought his old house. We found out soon he was also our next door neighbor. Such a great person and we will miss him. While building our house, he would regularly text us the status, take pictures and tell us when people were working and when not. Enjoyed our Terry texts. Thoughts and prayers to his family. He will be missed.
