Terry Wilm
November 3, 1970 ~ March 22, 2015
Father, husband, brother, son, friend and devoted Cowboys fan, Terry Wilm, died in the early morning of March 22, 2015, after an eleven year battle with brain cancer.
Terry was born on November 3, 1970, to Catherine (Bohnenstingl) and John Wilm. Terry was raised with his three siblings on the family farm near Hankinson and graduated from Hankinson High school in 1989. Terry graduated from MSUM with a degree in Mathematics and worked for Menard’s until 2014.
Terry married LaDonna Bauske on May 6, 1995, and they were blessed with three amazing sons.
Terry’s competitive spirit, iron will, and silent strength, were developed on the family farm and perfected in his many athletic accomplishments in high school. Those traits continued to be demonstrated as he defied all expectations following his cancer diagnosis. He worked, he loved, he challenged, and he laughed longer than anyone dared hope. Terry’s commitment to his family was unwavering, as was his desire to live a normal life in challenging circumstances.
His family is eternally grateful to the many friends, co-workers, neighbors, and fellow parishioners who participated in two benefits (Hankinson 2003 and Fargo Nativity 2010), which provided support and encouragement in the long fought battle.
Terry was preceded in death by grandparents, Ray and Elizabeth Bohnenstingl and John and Florence Wilm, and his mother-in-law, Darlene Bauske.
Left to celebrate a life well lived are his wife, LaDonna Wilm; sons, Nicholas, Nathan and Lucas Wilm; parents, John C. and Catherine Wilm; siblings, Myron (Lesa) Wilm; Cindy (Shane) Albright; Mike (Shelley) Wilm; father in law, Don Bauske, and nieces and nephews.
Blessed be the memory of Terry Wilm.

Terry had an energy that could not be denied. Everyone around him became a better person just by knowing him. I was always amazed by his ability to stay positive. He never once let anyone know of his illness, and if you did know he would not let you feel bad for him. God puts people like Terry in our lives to show us the right way to live. I am grateful for the Times I was able to share with him. My thoughts and prayers to LaDonna, his sons and the rest of his family.

Terry and family will be in our thoughts and prayers. I played intramural and city league basketball with Terry way back in the MSU days and would often run into Terry at Menards and BS with him. Terry never let on about his illness–he was a very strong man and I know he always got a little smile when I would describe him as one of the best pure shooters I ever played with. He will be missed. God bless.
My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Goodbye’s are not something anyone likes. Whenever face timing my grandchildren, I rather say “see ya later”. And so that is how I am telling Terry now, I will see you again on the other side. I promise to hug, and hold your mom and dad, sibs, and family close. If even only possible to do so in my heart sometimes. I promise not to forget you. To pray for you and yours. Then when we meet again, we shall never say those words again, but FOREVER be together. What a party that will be too.

So very hard to believe that he is gone. We spent a lot of time together growing up, and I don’t remember him ever being sad. He could always make you smile and laugh! Such a charmer with a confidence that most people will never know. I miss him and can’t wait to see him again.
