Theodore Eric Hansen Sr. died on Tuesday July 4, 2023, at Sanford Hospital in Fargo, ND at the age of 62 years old surrounded by his family.

After graduating from basic training, Ted was stationed at Ft. Riley, Kansas. He was then stationed in Stuttgart, Germany when the Berlin Wall came down. While in Germany in December 1990, he was deployed to Saudi Arabia. He served as a Non-Commissioned Officer at the rank of (E5) Sergeant in his role as a combat nurse during the Gulf War.

Ted had a deep love for his family and delighted in spending time with them.

He cheered over any and every victory of the Minnesota Vikings! He was highly invested in the direction of politics in our country and enjoyed discussing current events with friends and family. 2. So sorry for your loss. Will miss his laugh and jokes he told us. He would go on morning break with us and we would watch Family Feud and laugh at all the answers they would give and try and guess the right ones are shelfs. He Will be Greatly Missed.

  3. So sorry for your loss. He was a wonderful person to work with. He always had a smile on his face & he always made you laugh at his jokes. Will miss not seeing him at work. Prayers for you & your family.

  4. Kerry and family, my sincere sympathy to all of you. Ted was an amazing man and good friend. He loved you all so much and very proud of his childrens accomplishments. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He was a great storyteller, jokester, and had a laugh that no one can forget.

  5. Kerry and Family – Ted was a wonderful man. We were so very sad to hear of his passing. He would stop at Simonson’s often to chat with his friends there and always had a good story to share. His love for the Vikings was very evident – you couldn’t miss his Vikings car. We chose the pink/purple candle in honor of his love for the Vikings. He was always helpful when you needed something fixed and he made sure it was fixed right. He was a genuine, kind and all around great guy to know. He always smiled, even when he may not have been doing the best. He will truly be missed by many. Praying for peace and comfort for your family. May the Dear Lord hold him gently in His loving arms.

  6. Kerry and family,

Ted lit up the room with his smile and laughter. He was a true joy to be around. He had a great gift of encouragement and used it it freely. Many within our Clinical Engineering family referred to Ted as the heart of our program. I am honored to have known him. He is already greatly missed. I pray for the Lord’s grace and peace to be very evident to the entire family during this time of grief.

  7. So sorry to hear of Teds passing, I was a fellow Biomed tech for CHI in Park Rapids Mn, and met Ted when we traveled to a training seminar in Sturgis S.D. together. He really loved his family and the Vikings, (And Golden Corral) We live next to Akeley Mn where his brother Jimmy is the local police chief. Ted told me to speed through town and moon him 🙂 although never did. Wish we could have spent more time together; he was a very nice guy.

  8. So sorry for your loss. Ted was an amazing person to work with. Gonna miss talking Vikings with him.

  9. I knew Ted from my days working at ST FRANCIS .His smile and laughter say it all .He took alot of pride in his work ..Many memories of laughter with him .Heartfelt SYMPATHY to his family and closet friends…

  10. So sorry for your loss. Like many others, I knew Ted from working in the larger bio-med group that he worked in. We were in different states but it was always a pleasure to visit with Ted when we were able to get together. When I think of Ted a smile always follows. He will be missed.

  11. I served with Sgt. Hansen at Fort Leonard Wood back in the 90s. I am so sorry to read of his passing. He was a kindly big brother type to a bunch of us young kids in his unit. He really looked out for us and tried to keep us out of trouble. I know he was all about his family, they were the most important part of his life. I’ll always remember you Sgt. Hansen. Thank you for looking out for us and for telling us interesting stories.
