Thomas Basil Blair

“The Roadrunner” Tom Blair passed away Sunday, December 25, 2022, surrounded by loved ones at the age of 80 years old. He was born April 16, 1942 and adopted by Nellie VanDyke at about six months old.
Nellie later married Ralph Blair and they raised him together as their son. He is survived by his brother, Thomas Ray Feldman.
As we all know, music was a huge part of his life. He was able to travel around the world and meet many people. The most important person he met was the love of his life, Darlene Elmyra Balvik. They met in Ada, MN while he was playing at the fair. They later married on November 5, 1965. They also traveled all around the world and eventually had three children. Darla Prindiville (Mark), Danita Ochoa (Joe), and Danny Blair.
He had six wonderful grandchildren that he loved very much. Ashley Prindiville (Chad), Alyssa Prindiville (Jake), Andrew Ochoa, Susan Ochoa, Abby Dolan (Travis), and Molly Ochoa. He also had one great-grandchild, Grayson Prindiville-Rempher.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, December 29, 2022, from 1-4 p.m. at the Horace Community Center, located at 214 Thue Ct., Horace, ND 58047.

  1. So sorry for your loss…I played in a band at the Wadena Elks when Tom was the manager, and always enjoyed visiting with him on our breaks. Darn good radio personality too…RIP “Road”

  5. Tom was a great help to me with getting the press involved when INS was being a difficulty in our lives. Though we did not see each other much in his final years I did consider him to be a very good friend.
    He will be missed dearly by ourselves and many others..
