Tony Schneider

Tony passed away on February 11, 2010 at Innovis Hospital in Fargo at the age of 89. Tony B. Schneider was born on May 22, 1920 at Esmond, ND, the son of Kasimer and Cecilia (Daschner) Schneider. He grew up and attended school in Esmond. After his education, Tony farmed near Esmond for many years. Tony proudly served his country in the United States Army in the 25th Infantry Division in the Pacific from 1942 to 1945. He received a Purple Heart, Bronze Star, and the Combat Infantryman Badge. After his discharge he returned to Esmond for a short time after which he moved to Illinois where he worked for a steel company. Tony moved to Fargo in 1947 and worked for Lane Western until beginning work for the V.A. Hospital in Fargo. He worked for the V. A. until retiring in 1976 after 28 years of service. Bertha Ludwig and Tony Schneider were married in Fargo on July 10, 1970. He is survived by his wife, Bertha; 3 children; 2 brothers; and many other very dear relatives.
