Travis Wilson

June 6, 1983 ~ October 3, 2026

Born in: Hillsboro, North Dakota
Resided in: Hillsboro, North Dakota

Travis John Wilson, 43, of Hillsboro, North Dakota, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Friday, October 2, 2026.

Travis was born on June 6, 1983, to Ray and Jody Wilson. Travis was blessed with his baby sister, Brittany, who became an important part of his life. He grew up in the small town of Hillsboro, North Dakota, where he attended Hillsboro Elementary School and graduated from Hillsboro High School in 2002. He attended NDSCS and graduated with criminal justice and attended Lake Region for their police academy.

Travis was a talented wrestler during his high school years and was known for holding his own in the weight class he competed in. He was a three-time state runner up in the weight class 103. He was talented in golf as well. Following high school, Travis began working for CHS in Grandin, North Dakota, where he remained throughout his life. He had the opportunity to work alongside his father, Ray, for many years before Ray retired in 2022.
Above all else, Travis was a devoted father to his four children, Serrina, Kalvin, Hayden, and Reece. His children were his prized possessions and greatest gifts. He was incredibly proud of each of them and loved watching them pursue their goals and reach for the stars. Whether it was a sporting event, theater performance, or musical concert, Travis could always be counted on to be there. If there was something important to his children, Travis made sure he was there to support them.

In his free time, Travis enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He especially treasured the time he spent with his two grandsons, Colten and Walker Reyes. While he loved being a father, one of his greatest joys was becoming “Grandpa Trav.” His grandsons brought him immense happiness and were a very special part of his life.

Travis also cherished being an uncle to his sweet niece, Ella Fiske. Although he did not have as much time with her as he would have liked, he loved her dearly and treasured every moment they shared.

Travis enjoyed many things in life, including fishing, hunting, riding his motorcycle, golf, spending time at the lake, and making memories with his friends and family. He had a way of making the people around him feel loved and welcomed, and his presence brought light to the lives of those who knew him.

Travis is survived by his four children, Serrina (Shane) Reyes, Kalvin Klose, Hayden Wilson, and Reece Wilson, who were his greatest pride and joy; his two grandsons, Colten Reyes and Walker Reyes, who brought him immense happiness; his parents, Ray and Joella “Jody” Wilson; his sister, Brittany (Taylor) Fiske; his niece, Ella Fiske; his former wife, Tessa Wilson, with whom he shared his children and remained close throughout the years; and many extended family members and friends who will forever cherish his memory.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Myrtle and Arnold Wilson; maternal grandparents, Florella (Wiley) and George Evans; cousins, Brian Sorum, Seth Wilson, Tamara Hammargren, and Tyrone Hammargren.

Travis was a devoted father, grandfather, brother, son, uncle, and friend. Above all, he was a light in the lives of everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. His love for his family, his unwavering support of his children, and the memories he created with those around him will live on forever.

He will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
