Tristan Sjaaheim

tristan sjaaheim
Tristan Erik Sjaaheim, 40, of Fargo, North Dakota passed away unexpectedly on June 13th, 2020 in his home. Tristan was born May 11th, 1980, the second son of Kim and Jeanette (Davis) Sjaaheim in Roseau, MN. He grew up with six amazing siblings on the family farm, where he learned to love, jest, and that those who eat slow, don’t eat. He attended school in Roseau, graduating from Roseau High School in 1998. He moved to Thief River Falls to study Radio Broadcasting at Northland Community and Technical College where he was super popular, which resulted in many lasting friendships. During his time learning stuff, he met and fell hard for a girl, who thought he was pretty great too. He then moved to the big city of Moorhead, where he continued his ninja apprentice training while also attending Minnesota State University Moorhead. Long story short, on October 2nd, 2004 Tristan and Sarah (Hagen) were married at First Baptist Church in Roseau, MN. Together, they created two incredible boys who were the light of Tristan’s life. Throughout his professional career, Tristan enjoyed a range of responsibilities including Sales, Manufacturing Supervisor and Operations Management, working several years at D&M Industries and Integrity Windows all while moonlighting as a top Consultant for David’s Bridal. His positions allowed Tristan to do what he did best, engage with people. Although his butterfly collection kept him busy, Tristan mostly enjoyed sports and athletic related activities. He was an avid supporter of the NDSU Bison, Timberwolves, Vikings, Twins and Liverpool. His spare time was spent fishing, coaching, playing basketball, volleyball, and softball. He was always trying a new recipe or trick in the kitchen, with experiments resulting in gems like dill infused turkey and the controversial decision to add feta to everything. While Tristan was a man of many talents, his true gift was an intuitive ability to connect with people. Tristan is survived by his wife, Sarah (Fargo, ND) and sons, Davis and Theodore; his parents, Kim and Jeanette Sjaaheim (Roseau, MN); his father and mother-in-law, Steve and Sandra Hagen (Thief River Falls, MN); his brothers, Travis, Dustin, Jeff (Sarah Kaiser), Stephen; and his sisters, Priscilla VonEnde and Emily Sjaaheim. He has many adoring nieces and nephews, Hailey, Dylan and MacKenzie, Keondre and Kaylee, Calvin and Margo. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m... with a prayer service at 7 p.m., Thursday, June 18, at Boulger Funeral Home in Fargo. Visitation will continue from 9-10 a.m., followed by a funeral at 10 a.m., Friday, June 19, at the funeral home. A celebration of life will be 1-3p.m. Saturday, June 20, at Helgeson Funeral Home in Roseau, MN. with visitation starting at 1:00 p.m. In accordance with CDC guidelines, social distancing and masks are recommended.
