Born in: Bismarck, North Dakota
Resided in: Casper, Wyoming

Valerie (Val) Jo Knudson of Casper, WY unexpectedly passed away at her home on November 3, 2024.

Valerie was born on October 18, 1976 in Bismarck, ND to Steven and Donna (Chambers) Knudson. She grew up in Hazen, ND and graduated from Hazen High School in 1995. Val then moved to Minot, ND where she married Timothy McConnell. They were blessed with three sons; Tyler McConnell of Fargo, ND, Devon McConnell of Grand Forks, ND and Colton McConnell of Fargo, ND. They were an Air Force family which allowed them to live in many different locations including Germany and England. Val was a wife and mother; taking care of her family and raising her boys was the most important part of her life. Val moved to Rapid City, SD where she met Tim Winjum. They were blessed with a daughter, Charlie Winjum of Casper, WY. Tim, Val and Charlie recently moved to Wyoming and made their new home in Casper. Again, Val was most proud of being a mother; focusing on her family. Val enjoyed helping with Charlie’s school activities. In addition to being a mother, Val had a passion for collecting dolphins, loved entertaining, enjoyed volunteering at her church, reading and taking care of her animals. She had a love for cats and dogs. Val was blessed with an outgoing personality and enjoyed meeting new people.

Valerie will be lovingly remembered by her three sons and daughter, father and stepmother Steven and RobinAnn Knudson, sister and brother-in-law Michael and Victoria Chambers, several aunts, uncles, nieces and her life partner Tim Winjum.

Valerie was preceded in death by her mother Donna Knudson and both sets of grandparents.

Val will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

  3. VAL,
I will miss our laughs, Val,and walking back forth to our homes in Rapid City. The happiest I had seen you was last summer as you and Tim were getting settled in….and all the laughs we had about Charlie working side by side by her Dad. You have never felt good and Im so sorry that you lived in such pain. You can finally be with your Mom again and be free from pain. I thought of you as another daughter. REST IN PEACE YOUR WORK ON EARTH IS THROUGH. Linda Winjum
