Verlyn "Lyn" Claus

Verlyn “Lyn” Claus age 89 of Fargo, ND died February 28, 2025 at Eventide Sheyenne Crossings in West Fargo, ND. A Celebration of Life will be conducted at 2:00-4:00 pm Friday, June 20, 2025 at Boulger Funeral Home and Celebration of LIfe Center. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Fargo, ND.

Verlyn Yvonne Fluegel, the daughter of Erwin and Mildred (Buchholtz) Fluegel, was born June 30,1935 in Fargo, ND. Verlyn grew up and graduated from Fargo Central High School in 1954.

February 28, 1955 she met the love of her life, Dennis Richard Claus and they were married February 24, 1956 in Fargo, ND. They raised four children, Barb Lundgren, Dean Claus, Linda Weber, and Theresa Pravato. After Dennis completed his military service they moved to Valley City, ND. From 1962 through 1966 they lived in Dickey, ND. Then returned to Valley City in 1966 through 1985 after which they moved to Fargo, ND. After Dennis retired in1999 they were Mesa, AZ snowbirds for 14 years.

Crafting was Verlyn’s favorite thing to do. She excelled at coloring, stained glass, diamond dots, crochet, ceramics, and sewing. She played multiple kinds of card games.

Verlyn is survived by her daughter Barb (Tom) Lundgren, Olalla, WA; granddaughter, Brigette (Sean) Cole, great-granddaughters, Everlynn and Clara Cole; grandson Justin Lundgren; grandson Ethan (Shelby) Lundgren, great-granddaughter, Emma Lundgren. Her son Dean (Cheryl) Claus, Vale, AZ; granddaughter Nichole (Brett) Lemons, great-grandson, Cash Lemons; granddaughter Kayla (Eric) Henry. Her daughter Linda (Jim) Weber, West Fargo, ND; grandson Peter (Michelle) Weber, and grandson Timothy (Katie) Weber. Her daughter Theresa Pravato, Land O’Lakes, FL, and granddaughter Isabella Pravato. Her sister, Karen Fluegel, Fargo, ND; and many nieces and nephews. Verlyn is preceded in death by her husband Dennis, her parents, and brothers Dorwin Fluegel and Wesley Fluegel.
