vicki schmit
Vicki L. Schmit of Davenport ND, 59, a caring and proud mother, passed away from Adenocarcinoma on January 16th. She left this world last Saturday afternoon, surrounded by many of her family members at the downtown Fargo Stanford Hospital. Vicki Lee Vchulek was born on March 1, 1956 in Breckenridge Minn., to Charles and Loretta Vchulek. She started work in the medical field as a Candy Striper at the St. John’s Hospital while she attended Shanley High School. She joined the Air National Guard shortly after high school, which is where she gained her experience handling medical records. She worked in medical records for multiple medical facilities in Fargo for over 30 years. Vicki met Pat Schmit on his 27th birthday in 1985, and they married on August 22nd in 1987. She spent time working for RGIS during the final years of her life, where she made many friends while traveling for her job. When she was not working, Vicki would try to spend as much time with her husband and four daughters as possible. She enjoyed outdoor activities with them, such as fishing on the Sheyenne with Pat and their dog Spike, spending time by the lake with her daughters, and babysitting her sisters while they shopped. Vicki was a member of St. Maurice’s Catholic Church, where she taught religious education classes for several years. She is survived by her husband, Pat; daughter Connie Schmit with fiancée Jacob Mahowald of Moorhead, MN; daughters Katie Schmit of Moorhead, MN; Kristie Schmit of Grand Forks, ND; Kellie Schmit of Aberdeen, SD; her sisters Kathy Gullickson of Fargo, ND; Julie (Gary) Westbury of Winder, GA; Ann Monson of Bemidji, MN; brother John Vchulek of Minneapolis, MN; and many nieces and nephews. Her family and friends meant the world to Vicki she was so proud of Pat and their girls. 20. Celebrate her life, OK? I know that it is a loss for U, but I think she might like it better if U celebrated her life, and be glad for the time that she got to spend with U all, OK? I know that’s what I’d want of my family, after I pass. God Bless, Dorothy Beaudoin

  21. I was so shocked to see Vickis’ Obituary in the paper. I worked so many years with her at St John’s. She always had a pencil behind her ear and took on any assignment running. She was so happy the day she Married Pat. I will never forget when she announced she was Pregnant. She was thrilled. But then the twins and one more. What a thrill it was for all who loved her. She is now in the loving arms of the Lord and of course her own loving. Mom who Vicki loved so. God Bless all of you.

  22. Pat so sorry to learn of Vicki’s passing. Thoughts & prayers to you, your children and family. I knew Vicki coming & going from my mom’s day-care time with your kids. Mom so loved you all and still does from heaven above. Hang on to each other through these tough days. God Bless!
