Vicki Miller

Vicki Lynn Miller went to meet her Savior on the morning of Saturday, December 22, 2007. She bravely battled kidney failure for over a decade, without complaint. For the third time during this battle, she was called for a possible transplant. She received the kidney on Sunday, December 16, 2007. After a week long struggle for her life in the ICU, Vicki passed from her earthly life and began her eternal life at home with the Lord. During this time, she was surrounded in love by her husband, Norman, her three sons, Colby, Logan, Brandon, her mother, Vernice, her sister Debbie, and close family and friends. Praise God! She is free at Last! Vicki gave of herself and all that she had so naturally, with humble grace. Her greatest joy was being with family, including her 13 month old grandson, Gabriel who warmed her soul. She was and is the rock, soul mate, and best friend for her husband of 37 years and loving, patient, and gracious mother of her 3 sons. Vicki was so thankful to her nurses at dialysis, who provided many years of care and love, she considered them her extended family. Dear Father, welcome your saint home. Amen. Vicki Lynn Schothorst was born on October 3, 1951 to Virgel and Vernice (Olson) Schothorst in Oak Park, IL. She grew up in McVille, ND and graduated from McVille Public High School. She married Norm Miller on June 28, 1970, at McVille Lutheran Church. Vicki attended Lake Region College in Devils Lake, ND. The couple moved to Fargo, ND, Spencer, IA, Davenport, ND and finally moved to Oxbow, ND in 1998. She worked at Steiger Tractor in Fargo for 10 years in the information technology department. In the last year, Vicki had been working part time at Information Systems in Fargo as a data archivist. She is survived by her husband, Norm; children: Colby Miller of Oxbow, ND, Logan (Jessica) Miller of Decatur, IL, Brandon (Amy Torkelson) Miller of Fargo, ND; siblings: Jim (Deb) Schothorst of Grand Forks, ND, Don (Donna) Schothorst of Grand Forks, ND, Debbie Reinhart of Fargo, ND; mother Vernice Schothorst of McVille, ND. Vicki was preceded in death by her father, Virgel, and brother-in-law Dennis Visitation will be held on Thursday December 27, 2007 from 5:00-7:00 p.m., with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m., at Boulger Funeral Home, Fargo, ND. Funeral will be on Friday December 28, 2007 at 2:00 p.m., at Bethel Evangelical Free Church, Fargo, ND. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery, Fargo, ND.
