Wanda Joyce Olson

Wanda Joyce Olson, 96, of Aubrey, TX, passed away Sunday, November 3, 2019 in Aubrey, TX. She was born January 25, 1923 in Fargo, ND to William and Julia (Bakken) Abbott. Wanda married Bud Monroe Jellison, and then later married Gilman Olle Olson on August 21, 1965 in Moorhead, MN.
Wanda is survived by her two sons, David Jellison and wife Susan of Rancho Mirage, CA and Paul Jellison and wife Laure of Addison, TX; daughter, Judy Johnson and husband Frederick of Aubrey, TX; step daughter, Arlene Gangness and husband Ron from Bismarck, ND; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Julia; husband, Gilman; brother, Randy Abbott; and two sisters, Margaret Holsen and Lucille Jellison.
Wanda was an accountant in payroll, employed at Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Dakota, for 30+ years. She voluntered at Sanford Hospital of Fargo and was a member of First Luthern Church for 40+ years.
Our mother was a single mother who raised all three of her children to have a personal relationship with the Lord. What a blessing she gave us, leading us to salvation. We are at peace knowing she is with the Lord. God bless you, Mom, and just know we will miss you every day of our lives.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00AM, Tuesday, November 12, 2019 at Slay Memorial Chapel in Aubrey, TX with Neil Jefferreys officiating. A funeral service will also be held at 11:00AM, Friday, November 15, 2019 at Boulger Funeral Home and Celebration of Life Center in Fargo, ND. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Fargo, ND.
I am praying for you and your family, Dave and Sue, as you lay your mother to rest. May our Lord give you comfort and peace. I’d like to be there in person, but know that I am with you in spirit. I am thankful for the time we spent together recently.

Sympathy extended to all of Wanda’s family. I worked with Wanda in the accounting department at Blue Cross Blue Shield in the 70’s – she was such a joy to work with – always a smile and so willing to help a person out with the wealth of information she had – in work & in life. Rest in peace Wanda–your memory will live on.
Wanda was a dear friend who was like family to all our family, She was a beautiful and vibrant soul who always stayed active in her church and community while spreading kindness to all around her. We will all dearly miss her and we send our deepest condolences to the family and will keep all of you in our prayers during this difficult time.
