Wayde LeRoy Starr passed away January 7th at his home in West Fargo, ND.

Wayde was born on November 14, 1967 in Northwood, ND. He was the son of Allen and Myrna Starr. Wayde graduated from Bisbee-Egeland High School in 1986 and attended Dakota College in Bottineau, ND. He served in the North Dakota Army National Guard and was actively deployed in the Gulf War. Wayde worked at Anheuser-Busch for 23 years until his retirement in 2020.
More than anything else, Wayde loved his children, grandchildren, and his dog, Roger. They were the light of his life. Wayde was an avid outdoorsman, he loved hunting, fishing and camping. He was a very talented taxidermist. Wayde was known for his big heart, quick wit, boisterous laugh and was a friend to everyone. He was not the life of the party; he was the party.

Wayde is survived by his daughter, Jordyn Starr, West Fargo, ND; son, Levi Starr, West Fargo, ND; grandson, Dawson Starr; granddaughter, Cora Surerus; sisters, Dee Lynn (Doug) Heisler, East Grand Forks, MN, Lori Starr, Northwood, ND; brothers, Waylan (Ranetta) Starr, Valley City, ND, Chad (Colleen) Starr, Rolla ND; many nieces, nephews; and his girlfriend, Tracy Vareberg, West Fargo ND.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and many family members and friends.

  1. I had the pleasure of working with Wayde for my time at AB. He was always there to put a smile on our faces and give a laugh. I really enjoyed when he’d come visit. He reminded me of a close family member that I lost and I am so sad to hear of his passing. Sending prayers to his family through this time.

  10. Was saddened to see that Wayde had passed away. I knew him during my time at the AB Malt Plant where I worked until 2008 when I retired. I have fond memories of Wayde and many conversations with him. Sending my condolences to his family and wishing you all PEACE.

  13. I served with Wayde (aka Ringo) during the gulf war. He was a good man, and it was a pleasure to serve with him. He could always bring some humor even do the worst situation. My sincere condolences go out to his family members.

We got to be friends when I moved to West Fargo and we would laugh that we probably met at the Bonn farm when he was raising heck with James…now they are reunited and back at it. He let everyone know of his love for his kids and the “littles”. I’m so sorry that “he’s done”. His memory will live on through your stories and talking about him regularly.

  15. I served with Wayde in Kuwait in 90-91. Always like his sense of humor, he had the ability to make a bad situation better with laughter. My sincerest condolences go out to Waydes family during this time. Shine on you crazy diamond. I’ll see ya on the other side. God rest your soul my brother.
