Wayne Joseph Dietz, 86, of Fargo, ND, formerly of Wahpeton and Ottertail, MN, passed away Tuesday, November 28, 2023, at Sheyenne Crossing Care Center, West Fargo.
Wayne was born May 26, 1937 to John J. and Stella Dietz in Wahpeton, ND. He married the love of his life, Donna Nordick on September 24, 1957, at St. John Catholic Church in Wahpeton. They worked on the family farm and had one daughter, Vicki Jane. Wayne worked for NDSCS until he retired in 1994.
Over the years Wayne had many hobbies including camping, fishing, hunting, bowling, and wood working. He loved to work on his lawn.
Wayne is survived by his grandchildren, Kyle Kragnes, Andrea (Bob) Burner, Amy (Keith) Friend; 6 wonderful great grandchildren, Jackson, Emma, Brody, and Cooper Friend, Jordyn and Kacie Burner who he loved very much and was very proud of. Wayne is also survived by a brother, Gary (Kathy) Dietz; sisters-in-law, Karen Nordick, Joann Nordick and several nieces and nephews.
Wayne was preceded in death by his wife, Donna; daughter, Vicki Rada; parents, John J. and Stella Dietz; his father and mother-in-law, Joseph and Clara Nordick; brother, Paul, brothers-in-law, Raymond (Lucille), Lyle, Leo (Betty), and Kenneth Nordick.
A funeral Mass will take place at 10:00 AM Wednesday, December 6, 2023 at Holy Cross Catholic Church, West Fargo. Visitation will take place one hour prior to services. Burial will take place at Calvary Cemetery, Wahpeton, ND.
