William “Bill” Christ Schweitzer, aged 89, of West Fargo, North Dakota, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, February 20, 2024, at Eventide in Fargo.

Bill was born on July 12, 1934, in Solen, North Dakota, to Jacob and Theresa (Geiger) Schweitzer. He married Pearl Yeager on August 31, 1957, and together they raised two children in Bismarck before settling in West Fargo in 1970.

Bill worked as a Foreman at Bismarck Grocery before becoming a driver for Midwest Motor Express where he retired after 20 years. He cherished spending time outdoors where he liked to hunt, fish and garden as well as spending many years at Lake Maud. He also enjoyed watching football, especially his Green Bay Packers, cooking and playing bingo. Bill found great joy in his family, especially in the company of his four grandchildren. He embodied a strong sense of faith and was a devout member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in West Fargo since 1970.

He will be dearly missed by his surviving children, Joseph (Teresa) Schweitzer of West Fargo, ND, and John (Jennifer) Schweitzer of Spokane, WA, along with his grandchildren: Allison (Tyler) Wentz & Jake Schweitzer, and Janelle & Jacey Schweitzer. Bill is also survived by his sisters, Angeline Berger and Lillian Schweitzer, and brothers, Joe (Becky) Schweitzer and Robert Schweitzer. He was preceded in death by his loving wife Pearl, his parents, his infant son William Jr., and his brother Kenneth.
