William Lund

William J. Lund, 78, of 1625 28th Ave. So. Fargo, ND died Sunday, August 1, 2004 in MeritCare Hospital. William was born on May 1, 1926 on a farm near Oakes, ND the son of William H. & Alma (Gemar) Lund. He grew up on the farm and attended school in Oakes graduating from Oakes High School in 1944. He enlisted in the Navy in1944 and served in the South Pacific during WWII. He was discharged in 1946 and returned home to Oakes. William married Ramona J. Brummund in Oakes on August 28, 1949. The couple lived in Oakes. Mr. Lund began working as a journeyman lineman for Ottertail Power Company in Oakes in 1955. The couple moved to Lisbon in 1965 and William was promoted to a lead lineman for Ottertail Power. He retired for health reasons in 1985. The couple moved to Fargo in 1992. He is survived by his wife, Ramona; his children: Dennis (Colleen) Lund, West Fargo, ND; LaMonte (Pam) Lund, Bismarck, ND; Myrna Dick and her fiance Ronald Lemke, Dilworth, MN; and Randi (Bonnie ) Lund, Mandan, ND; 9 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren; and two nephews who were raised by William and Ramona, Ray Spear, Lisbon, ND and Roy Spear, Los Angeles, CA.
