William passed away on Monday, March 8, 2010 at the Hillsboro Medical Center Hospital at the age of 92.

William "Bill" Albert Meyer was born on January 31, 1918 to Carl and Clara (Rust) Meyer at Hillsboro, ND.  He was baptized on February 24, 1918 at Immanuel Lutheran Church and was confirmed on July 26, 1931.  He was active in St. John Lutheran Church and served as an elder there for many years.  He attended school in Hillsboro until 8th grade when he started working on the family farm.

William married Evelyn Dickhoff on December 9, 1939 in Hillsboro.  William was a life-long farmer and even after retiring in 1984, he still maintained a passion and a love for farming.  Bill and Evie lived most of their lives on a farm before building a home in Hillsboro that was always open to family and to friends.

Above all, Bill was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.  He had an unwavering devotion to his family and to his faith.  He was a strong, proud man that was gentle, loving, and kind.  He always put his family first.

William is survived by his daughter, Judy Buethner of Hillsboro; his grandchildren, Mark (Tanya) Buethner, Jodie (Steven) Soland, David (Alycia) Buethner, and Amy Buethner; and his great grandchildren, Jesse Fulgium, Alex Soland Hamre, Katlyn Buethner, Shauna Buethner, Emma Buethner, and Faith Hanson-Buethner.  Also surviving is one brother, Harold (Lee) Meyer; and sisters, Delores Pritchett, Olivia Euren, Barbara (Donald) Weng, Margaret (John) Goshinska, and many nephews, nieces, and cousins.

William was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Evelyn; his parents; and his son-in-law, Dennis Buethner.
