March 20, 1919 - July 08, 2013

Charlotte Ruth Morrow, 94, Fargo passed away peacefully to her Heavenly home on Monday, July 8, 2013 at Sanford Palliative Care in Fargo.  She was born on March 20, 1919 in Erie, ND to Clark and Florence Hill.  She grew up on her family farm near Erie, ND.  She graduated from school in Erie and Fargo Business College.

On June 27, 1940 Charlotte married the love of her life, William (Bill) H. Charlotte was an extraordinary homemaker and will long be remembered for her strong work ethic, excellent business skills, and love of horses.  She loved her children and grandchildren, and was especially fond of her great-grandchildren. She lived a full and fruitful life, but will be greatly missed.

Charlotte is survived by her husband, William; 3 daughters, Claudia (Keith) Jackson, Mesa, AZ, Penny (Brad) Kasson, Fargo, ND, Patricia Larson, Puyallup, WA; son, Dana (Linda) Morrow, Horace, ND; grandchildren, Aaron Jackson, Nathan (Mandy) Jackson, Brandi (Rob) Zachariason, Sean (Ashley) Kasson, Evan Kasson, Jaime Larson, Matt Larson, Chasity (Jason) Boutwell, and Justin Morrow; 10 great-grandchildren, Lauren, Katie, Caden, Julia, Tate, Marin, Ty, Ellory, Tessa, and Livia.

Charlotte was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Linda; brother, Wallace; sister, Beatrice; granddaughter, Heidi; and son-in-law, Bill.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Sanford Palliative Care Unit for their gentle, tender care of Charlotte during her last days.

    Hello Bill,
We were sure surprised to hear about Your Sweet and Lovely Wife: Charlotte.
Your in our prayer’s always!! You both had a great life together for 73 years, with many good times to remember. Not very many can have that many years together. You were both such sweet and caring and giving people. We are trying to find someone that has your mail address up there In Fargo ND
. We just got a call last night from Mary Helen Smithson son Leland, that Mary Helen passed away the morning of 7/16. She had fell around about a month ago, and had hot got over it completely yet. They had been at her apartment the night before and played cards and she won. But they call them the next morning and told to get right over as they though she was going to slip away. They got there before she passed and had a visit and got Leland sister on the phone and let her speak with also. So you will never get any more of Mary Helen’s cookies.
We know that she is in a great place and she will be waiting for you.. Wish we were closer and could visit with you. Take it easy on the one in the home with, don’t make them work to hard racing in the wheel chairs. Bill I never work with a better person in my life and I really treasure our times we had together. Bill, we know you will have a lot of times when think back about your lives together and it will be hard on you, your not alone, she their watching over you. God be with you and keep you in his arms, Always.
God loves you and he love Charlotte also, he just could not stand to see her suffer here and took her home so she has no more pain..

My sincerest sympathy and compassion goes out to Charlotte’s Family and especially to Bill. Bill is related to my Grandmother Julianne Priewe-Rieke. I had the pleasure of knowing them a little my friend Deb helped out with the Arabians. Bill and Charlotte have always remained in my heart and this is a very sad loss.

It is with such fondness that I think of Charlotte and Bill Morrow. They were like a 2nd set of parents to me and we had so very many great times and laughs at horse shows and horse events over the years. Charlotte was such a character and so very easy to be around and hang out with at shows. Bill teased and teases me endlessly, but I loved it and gave it right back. I learned so much from them about Arabians and showing Arabians and between them and George Anderson, Casey Brantner, Shirley Holt (Miller), Dave and Bill Prentice, Grant Johnson, and so many other old school horsemen, I felt I got an wide range of horse education. Charlotte was always a true cheerleader at shows and I received so much encouragement from her in my first years of showing. I will miss her warm and comforting smile, always. Love to you, Bill.

Elgin illinoisMy time working horses and learning from Bill and Charlotte were some of the happiest moments of my life. Charlotte was such a keen exhibitor, and her attention to detail and cleanliness was something I carried with me. I am out of horses (for the most part) except for a few students, and occasional judging jobs in the Chicago area. One of my favorite Charlotte memories was helping her shoot warm brandy down a bunch of snotty nosed babies that the vet had not been able to clear up…it worked. Another time I was breaking a nasty little mare for Art Perschke that was there for breeding. The mean thing took off and ran over Charlottes riding lawn mower. being a stubborn Norwegian, I was going to ride her out, but Charlotte yelled at me to get of this instant!! I did , and she called Art to come get the mare.I can only smile when I look back at my time at shows and at the farm in Dilworth with Bill and Charlotte. My mom also sends her blessing to Bill, Patsy, and the whole Morrow family. Hopefully I will see Bill at Scottsdale next year.God Bless and for all the wonderful times a horse crazy young boy could of dreamed of. I am truly blessed for having them in my life at such a formative time. Thank you Bill and Charlotte for everything.Getting to show Sur Lancelot was still a high point of pride in my life.

San Marcos TexasPenny, Sorry about the loss of your Mother. Our parents are our rock and it is unsettling to lose that part of our lives. Beauty school seems like a lifetime away and the problems we had then are small when you consider what was ahead. We are lucky to have had the families we did, that is for sure!

This is 6 years later but just saw she had passed. Bill and Charlotte were my childhood! In other words, I was a child who LOVED horses and was fortunate to drive through Dilworth weekly , with my grandparents. My family was poor and having a horse was a fantasy but I would open the windows and gaze lovingly at those magnificent Arabs as a child. I still , at the age of 67, look longingly, remembering the horses, at the former Morrow farm every time I drive thru Dilworth. You are so much in my memories. God Bless You for bringing such joy to my childhood!
