Daniel Mathew Meyer, 66, Fargo, passed away Wednesday, December 1, 2010 at Essentia Health in Fargo.
Daniel was born on October 12th, 1944 in Breckenridge, MN. He grew up on the family farm in Fairmount, ND. He married Trudy Miller on November 22nd, 1969 where they made their home in Wahpeton, ND.
He worked for Cyril Meyer Electric from 1969 until 1975 when he joined the IBEW Local 1426. He later moved with his family to Fargo in 1978 where he worked as an electrician in both North Dakota and Minnesota until his retirement in 2007.
Daniel had a wonderful sense of humor. He was fun loving, hardworking, extremely generous, and was a friend to everyone he met.
He enjoyed gardening, deer hunting, fishing, playing cards, darts, and spending time with his grandchildren.
Daniel will be missed and remembered by his wife of 41 years, Trudy, Fargo, ND; his children, Karla Meyer, Fargo, ND; Todd (Crystal Peplinski) Meyer, Ashley, ND; Rachelle (Rich) Burm, West Fargo, ND; John (Melissa) Meyer, West Fargo, ND, and his grandchildren; Ethan and Zachary Burm & Amanda and Emily Meyer, brother; Tony, Fairmount, ND, and 5 sisters; Geneva Baker, Wahpeton, ND; Agnes Ista, Colfax, ND; Mary Paczkowski, Austin, MN; Anna Marie Borchert, Fairbault, MN; and Rita Roberts, Las Vegas, NV.
Daniel was preceded in death by his parents Matt and Hattie; brothers, Cyril, Jim, Gary, Raymond, infant Albert, his twin brother Darryl, and sister Phyllis.

We want to send our sympathy to you, Trudy, and to Karla, Todd, Rachelle, and John. We don’t want to believe Dan is gone. His death has really shocked us. We have lost a wonderful friend and a wonderful neighbor. He was always willing to help a person out and was there to give advice when we were trying to fix something. It is difficult to say goodbye to someone we love and hold dear and if it was up to us ,we would allways keep them here with us. But God has reasons of His own. Right now your arms are empty,and you hearts are filled with tears and greif. For those of us who shared our days with Dan are now finding those days to breif.
Yet if only we could heaven see,you know he is happy there. So trust Dan to Gods care and know that someday you will hold him to your hearts again when you reach heavens shore.
You have our love,our prayers and our deepest sympathies.Dan will be greatly missed not only by his family but his many freinds as well. We remember Dan with fond and loveing memories.May beautiful memories sustain you and may God be with you to help guide you through this difficult time and the days to come. We were greatly saddened to hear of Danny’s passing. I have many fond memories from the farming days and when he worked for my Dad. He always had a great attitude, he seemed like he was always pretty happy. I was lucky enough to have lots of uncles, Dan was a favorite uncle.
