Darlene Marie (Krumm) Holte, 50, Fargo, died unexpectedly at her home on July 15, 2011.

Darlene was born February 21, 1961 to Neil and Tess Krumm.  Darlene was a 1979 graduate of West Fargo High School and was an employee of U.S. Bank.

Darlene had a determined spirit and was dedicated to her family and friends.  She had a great kindness about her, always thinking of others first and lending a shoulder to lean on by all who needed her.  Her sense of humor was unmatched and her laugh, contagious.  Above all, she was a wonderful Mother and Grandmother.  She will be missed more than we can ever say.

I was so saddened to hear about Darlene’s passing. Every time I saw her coming into work she had a smile on her face. Before I had my surgery in February of this year she gave me encouraging words and told me everything would be okay, and she was right. I met Darlene when we worked at Eventide Nursing Home and knew that she was a sweet loving person with a big heart. She always talked about her family and had a sparkle in her eye every time she did.

My thoughts and prayers go out to her family during this time of sorrow.

    With Deepest Sympathy,

To the Family of Darlene Holte:

Darlene was a truly caring person. If she saw a need in others she always did what she could to help them. She was so proud of her daughters and her granddaughter. Darlene’s laugh was infectious! Once she got you started it was hard to quit. You have a wonderful guardian angel watching over you all and as long as she’s in your memories and your hearts she will live on.

    Rest in peace Darlene.

  14. Chanhassen Minnesota
I wish to extend my deepest sympathies to the family of Darlene.

I worked with Darlene for several years at Eventide Nursing Home in Moorhead. We were good friends for a few years but lost touch after I moved to Minneapolis.

Darlene was one of the most caring and compassionate people I have ever encountered. I know from working with her how much she loved her children.

What I remember most about Darlene was her laugh, it was infectious and often we would laugh uncontrollably. I still remember the last evening I spent with Darlene over at a mutual friends grilling, all Darlene and I had to do was look at each other and the laughter started.

Darlene was there for me when I lost my own mother at 51 and no matter the circumstances it is never easy. However, it does get better time and your faith will get you through.

  15. To Darlene’s family: I’m so very sorry for your loss. I’m sure her vitality and loving nature will be missed. I will miss her humor and her thoughtfulness, and her talent for knowing just how much to chat about the serious stuff, to get it out of our system so we could laugh again! She was a good friend, and I will remember her always.

  16. MOORHEAD MN

  17. Fargo Darlene – While I have just gotten to know you over the past 3 years, and even more so over the last 3 weeks, I have been blessed to just to have gotten to know you…period. One only has to initially meet you to know that you were a kind, loving, and caring individual.

Our prayers go out to those who love you and are privileged to have called you family and friend. May each and every one within your sphere of influence sense His presence, experience His peace, and are comforted by the fact that you are now with Him who created you in His image.

We will keep you in our memories and thoughts, which when we do, will always put smiles on our faces.

Dearest Tiffany & Aaliyah and the rest of Darlene’s family: We (parents of Patrick) are deeply saddened at the passing of your mom/grandmother and especially saddened because we never had the privilege of meeting her in person. After reading everyone’s entries, we learn a little more about this special lady and how she touched so many lives in a positive way. But, this is no surprise to us as you, Tiffany, have those very same traits. Even as young as Aaliyah is, she already makes us smile and feel special whenever we are around her as did her grandmother to so many people. We look forward to meeting more of your family. As the book says, “Heaven Is For Real” and hopefully one day we will all “meet” there.
    Love, Audrey & Dave

  24. To the family of Darlene–

When I think back on my memories of Darlene they are of a fun loving “cool and older sister” to my good friend Anita. I would wish secretly that I could have an older sister who was so fun and who made me feel so important. I guess that’s what Darlene did every time I’d see her.

May God watch over all of you–our prayers are with you.
