Randy Capouch
February 21, 1963 ~ May 2, 2018
Randy Jay Capouch was born on February 21st, 1963 in Grafton, ND at St. John’s Hospital. He attended Grafton Central High School graduating in 1981. He was active in baseball, basketball, football, bowling, and golf.
After high school graduation he played baseball in Winnipeg, Canada. From 1983-1986, Randy attended Mayville State University with a major in business administration and minor in accounting. He played baseball and golf. He excelled in baseball while in college and was named all-conference and all-district as a junior. As a senior he was named all-conference and all-district and also earned the honor of being the district player of the year. In 2016, Randy was inducted in the Mayville State University’s Athletic Hall of Fame.
Randy had a professional career in sales and management. At one time he was in business with his brother, David, at the Cactus Gardens, in Perham, MN. He lived in various cities and states, last residing in West Fargo, ND.
He loved to be with his family and friends, when he was not golfing. He also loved to travel, play cards, bowl, and karaoke. He will be remembered for his infectious smile and laugh.
Randy passed away unexpectedly on May 2nd, 2018. He was preceded in death by his parents Raymond and June Capouch.
He is survived by his eleven brother and sisters: Kenny Capouch (Fargo, ND); Diane Patten (Somerset, CO); Sandee (Don) Port (Bailey, CO); Gail Capouch (Brighton, CO); Bob (Natalie) Capouch (Moorhead, MN); David (Vicki) (Moorhead, MN); Kevin Capouch (Fargo, ND); Nancy (Stuart) Noble (Baudette, MN); Susan (Fred) Guzman (Lakeville, MN); Jeff (JoAnn) Capouch (Fargo, ND); and Kerri (Greg) Johnson (Baudette, MN), many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. He is also survived by Ernie Capouch, uncle, (Naperville, IL); Marion Capouch, aunt, (Grand Forks, ND); Dwayne and Dorothy McDermaid, uncle and aunt, (Streeter, IL); and Shirley McDermaid, aunt, (Rapid City, SD); and Ken Koppen, uncle, (Devils Lake, ND).

I am so very sorry for your loss. Randy was such a good man. He will be missed.
I am in shock, Randy was a roommate of mine for years . Our friendship always remained even tho we were out of touch with one another over the years. My relationship with the family goes back to Kevin and Dave. I will always cherish my memories of our bowling and golfing competitions. Rest in peace Randy, you will be dearly missed BUDDY!!
I am very saddened to hear this. Even though Randy and I had lost touch in later years, that bond of friendship that goes back to your childhood always endures. I always thought we would reconnect again – that there would be time to play another round of golf.
What I will remember about Randy is his sweetness of spirit and his generosity of friendship. He was always positive, upbeat. He thought the best of people. He was kind. He loved to laugh and be around people.
I am so sorry for the family’s loss. God bless you all and may Randy rest in peace.

I am in shock. Randy was very dear hearted close friend of mine for the past 15yrs. I met him in 2003 when I started at the Home Depot. I met a lot of his family at his last wedding, but he was a part of mine for the past 15years….. He would join my family all the time & everytime I came back for a visit in Fargo(after I moved). I just talked with him on Monday….My heart aches & is truly broken. Prayers and Deepest Sympathy.

Randy worked with my daughter at Home Depot while she was in college. He was very kind and cared about others a lot. May gods arms hold you tight.

I am deeply saddened to have heard of Randy’s passing. May God bless all of those who mourn his loss. I had the privilege and honor to have been Randy’s baseball coach at Mayville State University during his illustrious and hall of fame career. His “Comets Pride” was unwavering and his devotion to our program and our school will not be forgotten. Comets Baseball lost a dear friend, alumnus, and Comets great and our hearts are heavy. Godspeed for healing to all who grieve. May you rest in peace.

I am absolutely shocked to read that Randy has passed away. I worked with him for years at Walgreens. We always talked about being from small town North Dakota. We shared many laughs back in the day. My heart is heavy and my sincere condolences to his family. I am so sorry for your loss. He was a blast to work with and always had a smile on his face.

So sorry to hear the sad news on Randy. It has been a very long time since I had seen Randy, but we played baseball and softball together in Grafton, ND… back in the day. I knew Randy for about a year and a half. He hired me at Kohl’s and was an awesome manager. He was always smiling, helpful, friendly, and upbeat. I was shocked to hear of his passing and will truly miss seeing him in the store. He made work fun. I am so very sorry for your loss. He was a great man. My sympathy goes out to the Capouch family.
I so sorry to hear of Randy’s passing, I worked with Randy at Sears. I always had such a positive attitude and was always smiling. He told great jokes and talked about ways to improve my golf scores.
To the whole Capouch families I’m so sorry for your loss growing up with you guys was like having a second family.
Randy will be greatly missed, what a great friend Randy was. Mayville would not have had a rat pack without Randy we would start Friday night and play Pinnacle all weekend. He was always up for an adventure like cross country skiing at turtle mountain state park.
I will always cherish those years at Mayville with a very special friend…
