Richard K. "Pete" Brunelle passed away in Omaha, Ne. on August 26, 2018. Born in Fargo, ND on February 12, 1937 to the late Oliver and Agnes Brunelle.
Survived by wife, Donna Brunelle; daughter, Stephanie (Mark) Manganaro; son, Douglas Brunelle; grandchildren, Samuel Manganaro, Peyton Brunelle; sisters, Patricia (Tom) Barr, Maxine Liversage; brother, Michael (Candy) Brunelle; numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Richard graduated from Shanley High School, the class of 1955. He attended NDSU and then received his medical degree from Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine.He completed a residency at Flint Osteopathic Hospital in Michigan and was affiliated with many hospitals in ND. He was board certified by the Osteopathic College of Otolaryngology. Dr. Brunelle was a member of the American Osteopathic Association, the American Osteopathic College Opthamology and Otolaryngology, the American Medical Association Academy of Otolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery, the Pan American Allergy Society and the North Dakota Medical Association.
Dr. Brunelle retired from Dakota Clinic on May 31, 2006. He practiced Medicine for 44 years.
A Memorial Service for Dr. Brunelle will be held at the Boulger Funeral Home September 22, 2018 at 10:00 AM. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Memorials to Doctors Without Borders.

My deepest sympathies to the family. Dr. Brunelle was my doctor for many years. He was such a nice man. We talked about travels and when I told him about swimming in Fiji with a great white shark, he told me he repeated that story to many of his patients. Also, Maxine Liversage, I worked with you at the Courthouse when I would take Helen Rosley’s place. I often inquired about his health from a former co-worker David Wey. He will be missed.

My deepest sympathy to Dr. Brunelle’s family and friends. Dr. Brunelle was my doctor and surgeon. When he did my surgery several years ago, he went out of his way to ease my concerns. His post-op care was like no other. I still share my experience as the standard that others should expect. Rest in peace.
Dr. Brunelle was my doc too. What a great guy & a great doc! My husband loved to go with me to my appointments just to see doc Brunelle! He & Dick got to talking while nurse Evie & I waited patiently for the guys to wind down! There will never be another as great as doc! We miss him & are sad to hear of his passing. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all, god bless!
Many prayers to the family of Dr. Brunelle. He was my doctor for many years and had 3 surgeries with him. He was the standard I set too for the best care and the way he could reassure me everything was going to be fine. The only doctor I brought lefse that my mom made and Turkey ducks ( Muscovy ducks ) that I raised. Crazy. H was a great person and will be missed by all who knew him.

It was truly a joy to work with Dr. Brunelle for many years. It was just a different mood when I found out I would be assigned to his room. His sense of humor, the kind of music he liked, good care that he gave his patients. He was always kind to his patients. A great Doctor. I remember very clearly the first day that he started working at Dakota Clinic and Hospital.
He will be greatly missed. Rest in peace Dr. Brunelle.
Kathy and I will always be grateful for his wonderful care of our son Dylan. He became a close friend and was always interested in what was happening in our world. His laughter was contagious and friendship was special. He had a fascination with public office and enjoyed getting his digs in. Wonderful events with the two Donna’s with Roger’s hospitality made for wonderful entertainment. God Bless love Tim and Kathy
Dear Dr B, thank you for being a friend and mentor. So grateful that you and Donna stopped by to visit whenever you were in town. I’m glad Grant and I got to visit you in Omaha after our Zoo adventure. Donna, thank you for your love, care and support of this wonderful man. RIP Dr B and much love to you Donna. It was always a special treat to work with Dr. B. in the operating room. I knew it would be good day, even when he wanted to play “his special tape.” He always had such a kind heart for everyone. He was a great man, and will be missed by all. I was out of town today and I am sorry I was not able to make it to his service.

Here at Dakota Clinic in Fargo ND and decided to lookup Dr Bernie. So sad to see he has passed away. He was an amazing Dr and cared deeply about his patients. Prayers to his family.
