Gerald and Gloria Last Summer

  1. I took this picture last July. For those who know my parents and have lost touch or wondered how they’d been doing. Mom was 96 and Dad was 93. They lived about a block apart in North Fargo up until last September when Gloria moved to Edgewood Vista in South Fargo. Dad lived at Rosewood on Broadway due to Parkinson’s. Although Gloria still gets around with a walker, that day we put mom in a wheelchair and my sister and I took the two of them for a walk-and-roll on a beautiful evening. We pushed them side by side and they held hands. They light up when they get to see each other. I can’t imagine what life is like at that age. I love them so very much and it hasn’t been easy to see them struggle with the challenges of daily living in light of hearing loss, sensory and motor decline, memory loss, etc. They are my life. Because she’s not wheelchair bound, Gloria is able to live with me and my husband Bruce near DL during June through September and we all share lots of laughs. We would come to Fargo to get together with dad as much as possible, but it was hard to get there as much as I wanted to. I haven’t kept up with people, but know that I think about you often. I rarely check FB, email or anything, so if you need to reach me, texting my phone or messenger might be best. ~ Sue Nelson 🙂
