My roommate at the College of St. Benedict (St. Joseph, MN) was Eileen, Dr. and Mrs. Luistro’s daughter.
She was my best and favorite roomie.
Our friendship became even more special when my mother Emma David Palaganas and Charito met and realized they knew each other already through one of HER girl cousins.
Eileen and I bonded over our common Fil-Am experience as children of Filipino physicians and our friendship with fellow Fil-Am doctor’s kid and St. John’s University (Collegeville, MN) schoolmate Phil Villavicencio, Jr.
On one of our holiday breaks circa 1981-1982, Eileen and I drove to Fargo so we could spend time with her parents.
We listened to Hall & Oates’ newest LP on her dad’s component stereo system.
They took us to dinner at a Hawaiian-style luau place somewhere in the “Margo/Forehead” area!
I appreciated Dr. and Mrs. Luistro’s hospitality and generosity and enjoyed their company because they treated me like family.
Eileen, when you see this, come find me on Facebook as “Amalia Palaganas Spagnolo.”
I would love to catch up. ♥️
