Margaret’s services will be livestreamed and viewable below starting at 7:00 PM Tuesday, December 9, 2025 and 2:00 PM Wednesday, December 10, 2025:
Margaret Ann Sapa Hartze was born in Britton, SD to Joseph and Helen Sapa. She lived in Rutland, ND until 1958 when her family moved to Fargo, ND. Margaret attended Shanley High School where she met many life long friends. After high school she complete her schooling at Dakota Business College.
Margaret was married and divorced and had five children, baby Jacqueline, Steve Hartze, Stacia (Dean) Ambuehl, Matthew (Denise) Hartze and Becky Borg.
Throughout Margaret’s life she worked as a bookkeeper. She had worked at many different places but most recently at Exhaust Pros.
Margaret had many hobbies and activities such as gardening, traveling, church activity at St. Anthony’s, and neighborhood bible study. She was passionate about visiting and socializing as much as she could. Whether it was with her Shanley classmates, family reunions, her girls weekends at the lake, BE retreats, or St. Anthony “Sleeping Bag” slumber parties. Mom loved her role as grandma whether it was spending time with them shopping, baking, or supporting their sporting or musical activities. Mom also talked about retirement when she had not been well. Her feeling was that being retired was like waiting for death to happen. We want to thank the Exhaust Pros family because we truly believe her working there gave her a purpose for life everyday.
Margaret will always be remembered for her love of spending time with family, friends, and church family. Her sparkling smile and warm memories of her will live on in the hearts of all of those who loved her so much.
Margaret is survived by her sister Jean (Dave) Seifert, children Steve Hartze, Staci (Dean) Ambuehl, Matt (Denise) Hartze, and Becky Borg. Grandchildren Trey, DJ, and Joey (Steve), Jackson, Brady, and Piper (Staci), Taylor, Morgan, and Logan (Matt), and Adair and Maranda (Becky). Great-grand child Emerson (Trey). And many nieces and nephews who considered her their second mom.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Helen Sapa, siblings Alacoque Gibb (Bob), Mary Helen Konewko, Jerry Sapa, Joe Arthur, three infant siblings, and her infant daughter Jacqueline.

What an amazing friend, and mother John and I will miss her so much at Jerry’s golf tournament just her saying HI always put a big smile on our face. Our thoughts are prayers are with the whole family
Our thoughts and prayers are with you, her family, Margaret came by every week as she was part of our raw milk group. She was a believer in anything Natural and we had great discussions. She shared updates about her family and holiday gatherings. She will be greatly missed as we had become friends and we looked forward to those weekly visits. Lynn Wolff and Gail Reierson

She was an amazing kind wise faithful individual who made my life better just because she was in it. Love you always Margaret
Margaret and I played Whist together for about 25 years. Loved those days! Rest in peace, friend
Met your Mom through the Kangeroo Water business. Nice lady always enjoyed visiting with her. Was sorry to hear she was having health issues. Treasure the memories and years you had her. She was a hard working lady. Bless her memory.
She really was a kind and warm lady, I knew her from high school and Exhaust Pros.
RIP

Dearest Margaret…remembering
our days at Shanley and the Sapa house, years of a night out playing whist, pool parties at Janey’s, seeing you at LTM when you worked for Tom, breakfast at Randy’s, girls’ weekend at Chris’ lake and so many more wonderful memories.

Nice lady..RIP Shanley ’65
My heart breaks for you all, I had the sweet pleasure of spending time with your mom just a handful of times, but every time was a beautiful memory!! I know she was not only so amazingly special to all of you, but to many others as well. Mark and Shirley have many memories of Margaret that they have shared over the years! She proved to be a special lady and I’m sad for you all for the empty space that this will leave in all of your lives!! I love you all❤️
My memories of your Mom go beyond my time at St. Anthony’s as a beginning Teacher.
I am forever grateful for her welcoming smile, encouragement, and joy.
Dear Becky, I can still picture you as you were then and even hear your voice, your laugh. You were true joy as well.
With love to you.

Our time in Fargo was marked with our St. Anthony friends. The Sleeping Bags is one of my most favorite memories as it was our best way to keep connected. Margaret was definitely one of our most fun members. I treasure her memory along with our other Sleeping Bags. Rest in Peace,Margaret.
with my sympathies, I Love you all, Sincerely Agner!
